Viewers of Channel 4 programme Pure were left shocked at the programme's sexually explicit opening scenes.
The series, which premiered last night, explores the life of a woman suffering with pure O, a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that causes constant intrusive sexual and violent thoughts
In the opening minutes, viewers were offered an insight into the distressing reality of living with the condition when main character Marnie (Charly Clive) was forced to abandon a family function after becoming preoccupied with sexual thoughts of the guests, including one of her kissing her own mother.
The scene left viewers at home shocked, with one describing it as 'soft porn'. Others admitted they had made the mistake of watching the show with their parents.
